ABOUT THE PROJECT
Haydn & Rollett: $11 million
McKenzie & Parma recently completed a transformative civil and enabling works project at 30 Bowden Road, Mt Wellington, a site spanning approximately 3.9 hectares. This ambitious development involved preparing the ground for two adjacent warehouses, overcoming significant challenges—including working with contaminated land—to deliver a high-quality commercial space.
One of the most complex aspects of the Bowden Road project was managing and remediating contaminated ground. McKenzie & Parma implemented rigorous environmental controls to ensure safe excavation and site preparation. Measures such as sediment controls and site-specific environmental management plans were crucial in protecting surrounding ecosystems and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
The scope of work was extensive and included:
- Earthworks and Excavation: Preparing the site for construction, including grading and levelling.
- Drainage Systems: Installation of new stormwater, wastewater, and grease trap systems to support the warehouses' operational needs.
- Utility Services: Laying down water supply pipelines, communication and data ducts, and streetlighting to future-proof the development.
- Siteworks: Construction of a new car park and main driveway, complete with paving, kerbing, and channel works to ensure smooth access and functionality.
