ABOUT THE PROJECT
KiwiRail : $2.7 million
The project involved the upgrade of two existing rail tracks at Mount Eden Station and Grafton Station. Both tracks of approximately 340m long were removed (including the existing ballast and formation) and replaced with new formation and ballast.
This also included the installation of 6km services ducting alongside the length of both tracks and as well as the removal of excavated asbestos contaminated material.
11 foundations, consisting of mast and tie back foundations were constructed.
The constrained timeframe required meticulous pre-planning and close co-ordination between the various parties in order to achieve/meet the programme required by the client.
