ABOUT THE PROJECT
Auckland Council : $3.0 million
The contract consisted of laying a new concrete stormwater pipeline with a diameter ranging from 1.2 to 1.5 metres over a distance of more than 700 metres to a maximum depth of 4.5 metres. In addition to the new pipeline, 300 metres of existing stormwater pipe was rehabilitated with a specialised spiral wound UPVC liner.
200 metres of the pipeline ran through a contaminated landfill site requiring strict environmental controls. 7,000 tonnes of contaminated material was excavated and disposed.
